Here at Launch West CO, we are always trying to support entrepreneurial efforts to grow and nurture the community. The Grand Valley Food Hub venture actually does just that.
Grow. Nurture. Aggregate. Distribute. What is a Grand Valley Food Hub? Check out this article on their site for the skinny.
This project started as an initiative from the The Business Incubator of Grand Junction, CO led by Annalisa Pearson and with help from Kathryn Bedell of Roan Creek Ranch and Bryan Wachs of MySalesButler.com.
The Food Hub is ready to finalize its mission, directives and foundation from feedback from the farmers, food producers, wholesale buyers and consumers of the Grand Valley. After a year of monthly meetings, they are ready to get the ball rolling.
A forum event on March 30th at Western Colorado Community College to bring together the different actors in the community will further solidify the mission and allow the Food Hub to focus on the needs of the community.
Get involved. Tell your farmer and producer friends to get involved. Use the combined resources and efficiency to build a sustainable small farm environment and increase our food security right here where we live.
